the fire material damage only provides indemnity to the insured in respect of loss of or damage to the tangible assets. any loss from a fire or major nature catastrophe such as earthquake, storm or flood could bring about serious disruption to the business activities of the insured in terms of loss or production, sales and consequently the earnings. it pays for the residual net profit and fixed charges resulting from interruption of business following loss or damage by fire and the insures perils.

HOUSEOWNERS
this policy covers the residential property, including its fixtures and fitting, garages, walls, gates and fences, against loss or damage by fire, lighting and explosion caused by gas used for domestic purposes, theft with violent / forcible entry or exit, liability to third parties for accidents for accidents in the property, etc.

HOUSEHOLDER
this policy covers the household goods against loss or damage due to fire, lighting and explosion caused by gas used for domestic purposes, theft by violent / forcible entry or exit, liability to third parties, etc.

PERBEZAAN ANTARA INSURANS DAN TAKAFUL

Takaful dan Insurans mempunyai tujuan yang sama iaitu memberikan jaminan dan bantuan kepada peserta dalam bentuk kewangan. Namun di antara keduanya terdapat perbezaan yang besar. Perbezaan yang wujud dapat dilihat daripada beberapa sudut berikut:

Hukum

Perniagaan Takaful adalah halal dan umat Islam harus menyertainya sementara perniagaan insurans telah diputuskan haram oleh Majlis Fatwa Kebangsaan dan juga majlis-majlis fatwa lain. Perniagaan insurans mengandungi unsur Riba, Maisir dan Gharar. Maka membeli polisi insurans dan segala hasil pendapatan daripada syarikat inurans adalah haram.


Kontrak asas yang digunapakai

Dalam Insurans konvensional kontrak yang digunapakai ialah kontrak pertukaran (Mu’awadat) iaitu dalam bentuk jual beli. Sementara Takaful menggunakan kontrak derma (Tabarru’)

Kontrak-kontrak lain

Dalam Insurans konvensional tidak terdapat kontrak-kontrak lain selain kontrak jual beli. Tetapi dalam Takaful, digunakan kontrak wakalah (agensi) dan kontrak Mudharabah (perkongsian untung rugi)

Tanggung jawab pemegang polisi

Peserta Takaful akan menyumbang caruman untuk saling menjamin di antara semua peserta sementara pembeli insurans akan membayar premium kepada penanggung insurans. Penyertaan Takaful merupakan satu akad di kalangan peserta tetapi pembelian insurans adalah satu kontrak di antara penginsurans dan pemegang polisi.


Saluran pelaburan

Pelaburan kumpulan wang Takaful akan dilaburkan melalui instrumen pelaburan yang diharuskan dan pelaburan ini hanya akan dilakukan ke atas syarikat-syarikat yang telah dikelaskan sebagai patuh Syariah. Penentuan ini adalah berdasarkan senarai patuh Syariah yang dikeluarkan oleh Suruhan Jaya Sekuriti (SC).

Pelaburan syarikat insurans pula adalah bebas kepada semua jenis instrumen tidak mengira sama ada halal atau tidak. Ini termasuklah pelaburan ke atas syarikat perjudian dan arak.

Perjalanan operasi

Syarikat Takaful mempunyai Majlis Penasihat Syariah yang bertanggung jawab memberikan nasihat terhadap segala aktiviti termasuk pelaburan. Selain itu syarikat Takaful juga mempunyai unit Syariah yang berperanan sebagai sekretariat kepada Majlis Penasihat Syariah. Syarikat insurans tidak mempunyai bahagian penasihat Syariah kecuali Syarikat MCIS Zurich Insurance. Walaupun begitu, penasihat Syariah ini hanya memberi nasihat dalam bebarapa perkara tertentu sahaja. Namun perjalanan operasinya masih lagi peniagaan insurans konvensional.

Pengendali-pengendali Takaful di Malaysia menggunakan dua model perniagaan Takaful iaitu model Mudharabah (perkongsian untung rugi) dan model Wakalah (agensi). Kebanyakan pengendali Takaful menggunakan model Wakalah dan model Mudharabah digunakan oleh Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad.

Segala hasil tidak halal yang diperolehi oleh pengendali Takaful tidak akan dikira sebagai pendapatan syarikat sebaliknya akan dimasukkan ke dalam tabung kebajikan. Syarikat insurans tidak mempunyai unsur ini.

Pengendali Takaful wajib membayar zakat perniagaan dan cukai tetapi syarikat insurans hanya membayar cukai.

Aspek perundangan

Pengendali Takaful tertakluk kepada Akta Takaful 1984 sementara syarikat insurans tertakluk kepada Akta Insurans 1963 (pindaan 1996).

TAKAFUL KELUARGA

Takaful adalah satu perkataan yang berasal dari perkataan Arab 'Al-Kafala (jamin) iaitu bermaksud 'Saling jamin menjamin'
